Access delegation lets you hand your Pensero access to a colleague while you are away, without giving up anything yourself. Delegation is additive, temporary, and revocable: you keep your full access, and the colleague keeps theirs plus what you grant.
Where to find it
For yourself: Account settings > Access delegation.
For org admins: Organization > Access delegations lists every active delegation in the workspace. Each person also has a Delegations tab in Organization > Users, so an admin can set up or revoke cover on someone else’s behalf.
What you can delegate
You can only hand off abilities you hold yourself, and only the ones you actually have appear as options:
Reporting-hierarchy access: your delegate can see the people in your reporting line, exactly as you see them. Available if you manage at least one person.
Org admin access: your delegate can use the admin areas of the workspace. Available if you are an organization admin.
Executive and Finance Lead roles: available if you hold the role.
The Viewer role cannot be delegated. If you hold none of the abilities above, the card shows You have no delegatable abilities.
Delegate your access
Open Account settings > Access delegation.
Search for the colleague who will cover for you and select them.
Turn on the abilities you want to grant.
Add an optional note for context, for example Holiday cover 12–19 Aug. The note is visible to your delegate and to org admins.
Click Delegate access.
The delegation appears under Given in your own card and under Received in your delegate’s, and takes effect immediately.
What your delegate sees
Delegated abilities behave like the real thing: pages, navigation and the global selector open up to the scope you granted, on top of the delegate’s own access. Nothing they already had is taken away or replaced.
When a delegation widens who they can see, Pensero shows an information banner reading Includes delegated access from <your name>, so it is always clear that the extra visibility comes from cover rather than from their own role.
Rules and limits
You cannot delegate to yourself, and both people must be in the same organization, active, and able to log in.
One active delegation per pair of people. To change what a colleague can do, update the existing delegation instead of creating a second one.
Delegated abilities cannot be passed on. Your delegate can never re-delegate what you granted them, only what they hold themselves.
A grant is only live while you still hold the ability. If you stop managing people, lose admin access or a role, or are deactivated, the matching grant stops working straight away.
Delegations have no end date. They stay active until someone revokes them, so revoke cover when you are back.
Revoke a delegation
Click Revoke next to the delegation. It stops applying immediately. A delegation can be revoked by the person who granted it, the person who received it, or any org admin from Organization > Access delegations.
Audit trail
Every delegation is recorded in the audit log: who granted it, to whom, which abilities, any later edit, and who revoked it. Org admins can review the history of a delegation from the Delegations tab of a user in Organization > Users.
